St. Elizabeth Center

Project Description

The 3-story St. Elizabeth Center building provides warm sleeping space, meals, showers, laundry, mail distribution, and transportation. The building features a food kitchen, and offices for social services for the physically/mentally disabled, physically/emotionally abused, chemically dependent, HIV/AIDS, elderly (62+).

JGJ’s scope of work included combining services previously administered from separate locations into one efficient space. The basement was built out with a new serving kitchen for hot meals, full pantry for the distribution of boxed goods and meals, and a computer room. The first-floor ballroom was converted into a 50-man bunk room. The second floor was built to accommodate offices and counseling spaces. Additional spaces were constructed for laundry, showers, and locker rooms. The exterior of the building underwent minor tuckpointing, electrical upgrades, and new windows.
